Moochie's Cheesesteaks Downtown Salt Lake City, the original Moochie’s location, has a one-of-a-kind origin story that began with founder Don MacDonald’s lifelong passion for pottery and craftsmanship. What started in a small Magna garage and later evolved into an award-winning pottery studio at 232 East 800 South eventually transformed into something entirely new when Don and Joanna MacDonald began serving homemade meals inspired by Joanna’s Philadelphia roots. During the 2002 Winter Olympics, they converted their gift shop into a humble kitchen, and in 2003 Moochie’s Meatballs and More was born—quickly becoming known for its authentic Philly cheesesteaks and fresh, handmade comfort food. Today, the Downtown Salt Lake location continues that legacy, serving up bold, flavorful cheesesteaks, meatball sandwiches, and Italian-inspired favorites that keep locals and visitors coming back for more.
